Dan starting working with us in 2003 as an MOT Assistant on Saturdays and joined full time when he left school.
He has earned his stripes gaining experience throughout the company and now manages our Sudbury MOT and Service Centre. You will find him in Reception with Tom Roberts, his right hand man, and they will both welcome you with a smile.
Dan says that Treadfirst is a great, friendly company to work for .
When Dan is not working he likes spending time with his young family, MOTO GP and cleaning cars.

Back in November I got run off the road in the dark and ripped my tire only to discover when pull over in a layby my locking nut key was damaged. My only choice was to get towed to a garage by my breakdown. I was recommended treadfirst and I was right to listen. So very helpful in sorting the entire issue as quickly as they could

Lovely experience the last couple of days. Really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. They resolved something I was worried might be a bigger problem than it turned out to be.

0 stars. Went for tyre puncture repair, they repaired the side wall of my tyre which I’ve since learnt they absolutely should not of done. This came undone within 24 hours leaving me needing recovery by the side of the motorway, AA was shocked they had repaired the side wall. Phoned tread first to complain and was told it would go to head office and to wait for contact from them but haven’t heard anything in well over a week.

Always very pleased with the service and help I have received from all of them. The staff is very friendly and, if needed, going on and beyond to find the issues... that clicking noise in my car 😂.

Managed to fit me in on a busy day, my wheel locking nut was broken, they managed to get the spare wheel off, locate me a new set of bolts, and replace the tyre, very stressful day but the guys here made everything super easy, thanks again!

Arrived 9am for my appointment to have a simple puncture repair. I had a busy day ahead so booked in advance. A puncture repair takes 20-30minutes. At 9:45am (45mins into appointment) I checked the car park and my car hadn’t moved!, so I asked at reception and it was only then told that they decided to inform me that they were running late (no apology). Ended up leaving at 10:30am, so 1hr30min for a puncture repair. Appalling customer service, with absolutely no apology at any point at all.
I run a business, and with my clients if we are running late we call to tell them so they have the opportunity to reschedule or arrive later, or at the very least inform them upon arrival.
Makes me appreciate my own team at work even more, as even on a bad day they do not forget the basics of customer service.

Their customer service is excellent, always so friendly, trustworthy and willing to help. I’ve had a few scenarios where I’ve needed a same day tyre change or a last minute MOT and they always squeeze you in if they can. They won’t overcharge or oversell either. Will always go to them first.

I had experienced a coolant leak, and being in the area for work I had no idea who to speak to about it, as my normal mechanic was now over 200 miles away! Dropped in and they managed to make time for me for a quick check over and gave helpful advice that set me at ease.

Absolutely useless. Had some work done on my car and a couple of days later while driving down the M11 the wheel almost came off because they hadn't bothered doing any of the nuts up properly and I had my family in the car. Should consider legal action

I was unfortunate to fall victim to the potholes of Saffron Walden, Treadfirst were polite, professional and efficient in helping me get my vehicle back in the road with replacement tyres as soon as possible. Fantastic customer service and value for money.

They were so friendly when I called with a suspected puncture, fitted me in the next day. Everyone was courteous, they kept to time and repaired the tyre inexpensively. A really positive experience, they will be my first port of call in the future.

Couldn't have been more disappointed with the service. We had several issues working with this company, and only persisted in the hope it was a one off initially. However, after three mis-diagnostics, an over-charge on parts and then incredibly rude service (we had to actually insist on what we thought the problem was - to 4 members of staff - before they finally listened, raised the car and saw that they - the experts - were completely incorrect). If we had not insisted, who knows what 'problem' they would have fixed/not fixed. There was no offer of an apology, compensation, or a solution even! We had the problem fixed immediately, efficiently and extremely professionally in Haverhill in the end. Such a shame.

Fantastic service here! We were visiting the area for a wedding and had the exhaust come loose. We called on a Saturday and 5 minutes later the car was up on the ramp and they were looking at it for us. As we were pushed for time, they were able to do a temporary job, to fix it, then we were able to take it to our garage when we got home.
