November 29, 2018Agricultural Tyre Size Guide Information

Tractor working in a field making hay-bails

At Treadfirst, we have offered a premier agricultural tyre fitting service for many years, and recently, we introduced our comprehensive ‘agricultural tyre size guide’. This indispensable tool will help anyone looking for agricultural tyres to find the right size tyre for their vehicle, taking away a ton of frustration and confusion in the process.

Let’s take a closer look at the guide in this article.

Using the tyre guide

When you land on the agricultural tyre size guide, you’ll be presented with six categories:

  • ATV
  • Flotation trailer tyre & wheel units
  • High loader spreader tyres
  • High loader tractor tyres
  • Aprayers
  • Telehandlers

Click into each of these to find a full list of agricultural tyres suited to that specific vehicle. Each tyre will have a description to give you some more detail about their benefits and uses, as well as whether the tyre in question is ‘radial’ or ‘bias’ in construction.

When you’ve found a tyre that looks suitable, click through to see that specific tyre’s page. Here, you’ll see a larger image of the tyre, its description, and a range of symbols to describe the properties of the tyre. For example, the ‘RT 851’ tyres under the ‘high load tractor tyres’ category, has three symbols:

High Load Tractor Tyre RT 851

  • Durability – denoted by a ‘chain’ image
  • Reduced soil compaction – denoted by vegetation healthily sprouting from soil
  • Self cleaning – dented by a sparking clean agricultural tyre

There are many more properties, each with their own unique image, making it easy for you to quickly see which tyres have which characteristics with just a glance.

Choosing your tyre

After browsing through the guide and finding the right tyre for your agricultural vehicle, it’s time to use the callback form on that page to get things rolling. You’ll notice that the ‘product’ field is pre-filled with whatever tyre it is you’re currently browsing – so no need to remember lengthy model numbers!

The final field you need to fill in is the size of tyre you need. Not sure how to read the size of your current tyres? We’ve included a simple guide below the form to help you get the right measurements.

Once you’ve filled out the form and sent off your request, a member of our friendly team will get back to you as soon as possible – and if you need any further help finding the right tyres for your requirements, simply give us a call and we’ll talk you through your options.
