Wheel Alignment At Treadfirst
Carrying out wheel alignment checks and adjustments are a must with modern vehicles. Correct wheel alignment gives optimum handling, extended tyre life and improved fuel economy.
Driving over potholes, speed bumps or kerbs can knock your wheel alignment out. This can lead to uneven wear on your tyres and it could feel like your car is 'pulling' to one side. This in turn can lead to an increase in fuel consumption and premature wear on your tyres.
“The lads were nothing but fabulous, I can't fault the service I've received from yourself and the branch. It has been prompt and helpful.” -Sarah from Haverhill
Today's modern suspensions, some of which are front and rear adjustable, require a precise four-wheel alignment that can only be achieved through a modern alignment system.
At Treadfirst we offer two types of 4 wheel alignment:
Front Tracking / Wheel Alignment
This involves adjusting the front alignment to the manufacturer’s settings while lining up with the rear wheels. Incorrectly adjusted front wheel alignment causes increased tyre wear, poor handling, reduces braking efficiency and cornering stability, but very rarely causes the car or steering to pull to one side.
Rear Tracking / Wheel Alignment (where adjustable)
This involves adjusting front and rear alignments to the manufacture’s settings. Incorrectly adjusted rear wheel alignment will cause the same problems as front tracking and will also cause the car to steer or pull to the left or right. Rear wheel tracking can NOT be adjusted independently and must be incorporated with a front wheel tracking.
Our competitively priced wheel alignment services are available at our branches in; Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Saffron Walden, Diss, Haverhill and Sudbury.
