Success for Continental in the Country’s First 19” Tyre TestSeptember 30, 2016
Continental have once again backed up their reputation for quality with victory for the SportContact 6 in evo’s annual summer tyre test.
Taking top spot in the 235/35 R19 category on its debut, the tyre fought off competition from 8 other competitors, out-performing over a range of tests including for both dry and wet braking.
235/35 R19 is a brand new category, acknowledging the tyres of this size that are now competing at the ‘ultra high performance’ level, and it’s no surprise that one of the world’s leading automotive suppliers would place in pole position.
“We are thrilled with the performance of SportContact 6 in its first UK tyre test and to be commended by evo yet again,” commented Continental’s product marketing manager, Scott Benbow. “The high-technology tyre builds on our rich heritage of tyre test wins and reiterates our leading position for safety.”
Fresh from Continental’s development department in Hanover, the SportContact 6 is ideal for sports cars, from the Audi R8 to the BMW 5 Series, and is available in a diameter range of 19 to 23 inches. With the future in mind, SportContact 6 also includes a version specifically suited to the electrically powered Tesla Model S.
